The best of both worlds – WiFi vs DECT

Professional sound in CD quality by means of absolutely interference-free radio transmission in combination with the simplest setup and control Software. A quick comparison shows that not all radio frequencies are the same

WLAN versus other transmission frequencies

On the one hand, the classic WLAN (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) offers a wealth of functions and integration options; on the other hand, the number of participants in these wireless networks is increasing, with negative effects on the stability of the entire network. The participants are present by WLAN devices installed on site and visitors with active WLAN on their smartphones. In contrast, there are other free frequencies (830 MHz, 1.8 GHz and 1.9 GHz) which are absolutely stable because they are used according to strictly standardized protocols, which prevent overloading from the outset. These frequencies also achieve far greater ranges than the well-known WLAN. However, with these radio frequencies the range of functions for control and operation is very reduced.

The new SMART audio products from NewTec Design Audio combine the above-mentioned advantages, as the music is transmitted via the absolutely interference-free and stable 1.9 GHz band with the self-developed streaming protocol (newDECT), while the entire control and operation includes all functions and standards uses of the (W) LAN. The result is very easy setup, interference-free wireless music transmission in CD quality and maximum range!
